• Basic 3D Game Design

    Basic Game Design introduces the theories and methods of game design to your child and allows them a chance to explore the skills needed to develop games professionally and decide which they prefer. Students will have a chance to learn how to integrate 3D artwork into a game environment and manipulate it to build a scene of their own creation. They will also learn how to design game features, script functionality and animate objects and characters within the game.

    Students in these classes will learn to use the world famous Unreal Engine 4 which is used professionally to create hundreds of the most celebrated AAA games on all platforms. They will use UE4 to build game prototypes and interactive environments to share and prepare for a future career in the game industry.

    Age Range: 10–13

    Length: 18 hours (1 hour class per week)

    Software: Unreal Engine 4, e-classroom, possibly Maya for 3D artwork

    Time Frame: Winter / Spring

  • Advanced 3D Game Design

    Advanced Game Design continues the exploration of the theories and methods of game design with your child, giving them a chance to build the skills needed to develop games professionally, to decide which they prefer and begin honing those stills. Techniques learned: how to create and integrate 3D artwork into a game environment, manipulate art to build a scene of their own creation, design game features, script/program game functionality and to animate objects and characters within the game.

    Students in these classes will learn to use the world famous Unreal Engine 4 to build game prototypes and interactive environments to share and prepare for a future career in the game industry.

    Age Range: 13+

    Length: 18 hours (1 hour class per week)

    Software: Unreal Engine 4, e-classroom, possibly Maya for 3D artwork

    Time Frame: Winter / Spring
